What services do you provide?
We are a design build company, that specializes in building on our client's land (BUILD ON YOUR LOT) in Durham, Roxboro, Hillsborough, Mebane, and surrounding areas. That simply means that we take your ideas for a new home or renovation and translate that into reality. From site selection to cost estimation, from plan design to finish selection, and ultimately from warranty service to our long term relationship, Grayson Dare is here for our customers.
What does design / build mean?
Design / build means that Grayson Dare Homes creates unique and personalized custom home plans for our customers. It seems that most builders want to call a home “custom” just because it has expensive features. At Grayson Dare, your home truly will be a custom home. It will be your one of a kind home, designed for just the way you live and just the features you want.
How long will it take?
Typically for a new home, the process from initial meeting (Including design) to completion is 10-11 months. This can be affected by design complexity, budget constraints, finish choices, and as always….. weather. For renovations the answer is much more complex. Depending upon the scope and scale of the project, completion times can range from a few weeks to months.
How much will it cost?
The cost for new home construction is dependent upon far too many factors to give a simple answer. The basic answer is land cost + construction cost + commissions + builder profit = sales price.
Costs for renovations vary dramatically.
Do you provide a warranty?
Yes. Grayson Dare Homes provides an exceptional warranty program, with a written warranty that exceeds industry standards.
How is the build on your lot process different?
The biggest difference is choices! Building on your lot offers our clients an opportunity to choose a location for their home according to their own preferences for use of the land. Depending on where the Municipality requires the well & septic placement, owners can choose if scenic front porch views matter more than the possibility of a backyard pool or basketball court and lay their house placement out accordingly. Owners also often have more options for the addition of detached garages/ workshops or barns.
When building on your lot, be aware that there may be additional site costs required. Owners are responsible for the costs of the site clearing, grading, construction of the home, well & septic costs, and for any utilities infrastructure that may be required on the site.
